Abstract

POSBEMED (Sustainable management of the systems of Posidonia-beaches in the Mediterranean region) is a project developed within the Interreg Med program, with the aim of defining a shared strategy for the sustainable management of the beaches on which seagrass banquettes form.
For this purpose, two surveys were conducted, one addressed to beachgoers and the other to public and private stakeholders.
The survey addressed to beachgoers aims at analyzing their perception of and attitudes towards the presence of the banquettes and the ways in which they are managed.
Within this process, an economic analysis of the costs and benefits related to the presence of the banquettes was conducted, in relation to the tourist's choices as a consumer.
