Abstract
Marine reserves are an important tool for coastal management. We study the factors that can affect the responses of fish species to protection by marine reserves. The response can be positive or negative, and change in its magnitude. The variation in the response of different species of fish can be explained, in part, by differences in their traits and exploitation status.
